Pain Relief

CARISOPRODOL (Soma) is used for treating discomfort associated with certain painful muscle conditions. It is usually used along with rest and physical therapy. Carisoprodol is a skeletal muscle relaxant. It works in the brain and spinal cord to relax the muscles. It also causes drowsiness.

TRAMADOL (Ralivia ER., Ralivia. Flashdose®, Ultram®) is used to treat pain in adults. The medicine is for pain that lasts for more than a few days. The medicine is not for use on an as needed basis

DICLOFENAC (Voltaren®-XR) is an anti-inflammatory drug. Diclofenac reduces the joint pain, stiffness, inflammation, or swelling caused by rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis

ETORICOXIB (Arcoxia®) is a new COX-2 selective inhibitor used for chronic pain and for acute pain. Current therapeutic indications are: treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, chronic low back pain, acute pain and gout. VALPROIC ACID (Depakote) is used for controlling certain types of seizures in the treatment of epilepsy. Valproic Acid is an anticonvulsant. It works by increasing a certain chemical in the brain.

PIROXICAM (Feldene®) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It helps relieves pain and inflammation associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis

GABAPENTIN (Neurontin) affects chemicals and nerves in the body that are involved in the cause of seizures and some types of pain. Gabapentin is used with other drugs in the treatment of some types of seizures and for the management of postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain caused by the herpes virus or shingles).
